As I get ready to move on from PeachyKeen, I have been reflecting on what an incredible ride it’s been – full of pedal power, creativity and collaboration. There are far too many highlights to mention, but here are a few!
Human Powered Events
We have travelled the length of Scotland with our human-powered events – from Banff in the Highlands all the way down to Scottish Borders. It has been a true joy to bring energy and fun to communities across the country, all powered by people. Glasgow has been a personal favourite and a real hub of activity for us, with twelve human powered events in 2024 alone!
I have also loved being part of The 5p Project, a brilliant initiative that has captured what PeachyKeen is all about: blending innovation, education and sustainability to make real impact.
Quite literally, one of the biggest high points for me, was clambering up onto the roof to help install 23 solar panels – a proud moment for the team and a huge step forward in powering the building with clean energy to become energy independent.
Pedal Powered Phone Charger
It felt fitting – as a true millennial with a mild mobile phone addiction – to have built PeachyKeen’s latest human powered offering: a mobile phone charging station. Complete with a wicker basket, light indicator system and a range of charging cables.
My time at PeachyKeen has been a rewarding, challenging and joyful experience. I’ve learned so much and worked alongside some truly brilliant people. I will be forever thankful to Andrew for allowing me the opportunity to be part of the PeachyKeen story. Thank you to everyone who’s been part of the journey – I will always be cheering PeachyKeen and looking forward to seeing what’s next.
